Taking suggestions from clipka on my original submission, I have updated
my CGSphere take on Sam Benge's Matryoshka interpretation of Shay's CSG
Challenge. I deepened the gold color, made the finish more metallic,
and improved the DOF.

Shay's CSG Challenge:

My original rendition:

DOF in both submissions was simulated by stacked multiple renders,
because POV-Ray’s native focal blur was taking too long. For the
original Sam’s Shay, the camera position was jittered, yielding a focal
point rather than a focal plane; in this redux, the camera position is
sheared with respect to the focal plane.

Photons pass: 1:05:46
Radiosity pass: 2:48:56
Final pass: 7:45:36
Frames stacking: 0:00:05

Total: 11:40:23

Very nice indeed! The gold is gorgeous.

How about Edouard Poor's camera macros? Would those be faster than
POV-Ray's DOF? Anyway, your method is working perfectly.
