the labels encouraged me to try something "function based", still playing but am
pleased with the attached (currently trying it as wallpaper). thank you.

Nope, I hadn't refined it that far. It's a "phsical" assemblage of sheared
box{} objects with a modified checker{} pattern to texture them properly. I got
the visual effect I was looking for and then had to move on to the rest of
things.
