This time, rock lamination warp further improved and a media mist added
over the troubled waters.

I like this one better, but you should attempt to realize your original idea.
Too little art these days is about building. Too much are these days is about
tearing something else down.

Some things need to be torn down, but culture cannot be built on opposition.
Culture has to present an alternative.

Thanks Shay, well noted. Somehow, I shall get where I want to go,
probably through a couple of tortuous side paths.

Hi Thomas,
ok, it's a while ago now, but now I have an idea how one can simulate
"steam fog", as I learned it is called now. I worked on a close up, but
it is not very convincing, it may be work better in a scene like yours
with a certain distance. Is it concievable to you to post your sources
to the scenes files section?

To address some political issues: We had a fair deal between the
AKP-States (African-Karibean-Pacific-States) until 2000: the
Lome-Contracts, which where unilateral, since then we have the
(bilateral) Colonou-Contracts, rendering the AKP-states to ruin.

Best regards
Michael

I apologise Michael,l for not answering earlier to you. I am busy with a
couple of other scenes (too many simmering on the fire apparently) and
nothing really getting to a satisfying conclusion (yet). However, I have
not forgotten and shall do what I can asap.

Best wishes for the New Year!

Best wishes too!
Don't bother. I set up an own scene in the meantime but it will take
ages to render...
Media for the steam fog combined with radiosity and focal blur. so I
will have all time consuming POV-issues in the image. But if you can
consider publishing your code to the p-b-sf I would be still interested
in your texturing of the geological structures.

Best regards
Michael

I finally posted a sample scene file with the geological rock structure
in p.b.s-f.

Sorry for the delay!
