I heard some people would be interested in a rendering pattern in spiral
(as alternative to the already existing 6 patterns (from 0 to 5))

here my proposal to handle every ratio, the tricky part is handling the
center, when it can degenerates to a single line in any direction, a
point or even nothing.

Here a capture with +RP6 (and a single thread) of the spiral render
pattern, in a dedicated branch of code. +RP7 is the opposite direction.
