Samuel T. Benge made a nice bright opal with media and reflecting meshes inside
of an object.

Well, this being the only example of Thomasite in the world, I am happy
to say that its ior is 1.45. It is a rather cloudy gem so I cannot make
it clearer :-)

Here is one from 2007 (I think).
It was made by the late Steve Paget. I asked him to make an opal ring
for my wife. He did this as well.

Yes indeed, I remember this one. I think Steve would have done an even
better job now with 3.7's irid improvements.
