I ran across the attached blob doodle from this past summer & decided to
post it as the newsgroups are relatively quiet. In working on my doodle
I was thinking of this Rainbow Spiral blob image by Ruy from 2010:

http://news.povray.org/povray.binaries.images/thread%3Cweb.4bc8bcc516734c1270e596300@news.povray.org%3E/

which I liked quite a lot despite the artifacts.

I've lost track of my source code, but my shape was defined more by
negative blob components than positive ones. An ambient 1 finish was
used for all the blob component shapes. The result looks to me somewhat
like brushed metal reflecting colored light, but it was not at all that
sort of texture & finish.

I like it, especially as it does not look like blobs in the first place,
and the texture is gorgeous.
