Just 2h10m, and that was mainly because of the (non-blurred) garland and
the use of material_map for the baubles lettering work.
Thanks, Clipka!

Sad to see no other comments than the ones by Thomas and me here to this very
beautiful image. But it seems that we've got to much Xmas presents with the new
POV release and UberPOV at the moment and everyone is focusing on them. I for
myself will open the UberPOV-box first at the holidays. (Of course I took a
first glance.) But this is due to RL-issues.
I didn't intended to post my comment twice yesterday, but with the first one I
got a wrong error message from the newsgroups-server that it cannot be posted
due to an "internal error". So I tried again but the original posting was still
delivered.
Best regards,
Michael

Here is a more blurred version (roughness x10). This one took 5h... not
bad if you think the whole image is filled with blurred reflections.
Thnaks again, CLipka... I'm already envisioning lots of things to do
with this beautiful feature.

I like this version too. I have not dressed a single Christmas tree
since my youth, but I remember there were all kind of baubles with
different blurring. So, you could also make a version with a mixture of
blurred balls going from almost clear to strong. Just a suggestion of
course ;-)

Hi Jaime,
A great demo of what this new feature can do.

Another advantage of blurred reflection: you can combine it with
micronormals if you feel your scenes still render too fast... ;)
BTW, the new aa is doing very fine on this one (+a0.0 +am3).
