Someone asked me this week for a 3.7 version of this old MegaPOV scene,
just when I was thinking what to render to celebrate the official
release, so... what better, now that Christmas is approaching?

This is a WIP still: just translated the syntax and added a few tweaks
here and there... now I want to take the bauble mesh over to KBPP for a
total remake of the scene using physics.

An interesting comparison with the megapov scene
http://hof.povray.org/ChristmasBaubles.html. A few things were slightly
better back then, like the garland, but the bauble texture is more
interesting here. I am not sure about the dof here I must say. However,
I expect that with some physics other improvements will become visible.

Make sure you don't drop them too hard - they look fragile :-P

Don't listen to Thomas; I think the new garland is perfect.

I really do love the ripples in the new baubles texture.

Thanks for reminding us that season of goodwill is fast approaching, not!
I look forward to seeing the next version.

Ah yes... the season of peace, quiet contemplation, and people in
headless chicken mode hurrying through noisy streets, desperately
searching for a good present...

'Tis a vast improvement, Jaime! The texture settings are much more realistic
than before, although the image could use some scaling work (it looks too
stretched).

Wouldn't an object made from a clipped sphere and torus render more quickly than
a mesh? Also, a Christmas tree HDRI environment would boost the realism greatly.

It's against my religion to approach a retail establishment or parking lot
thereof on December 24 or the day after Thanksgiving. If I haven't bought your
present by the 23rd, you ain't gettin' one.
