Time to show some (first) life in the streets and passages of Gancaloon.
Looking out from the tavern The Jackal.

I have spent some time modelling a mashrabiya, hardly visible in this
scene in fact. I shall try to make anoter view where it will be seen
better.

From the street, the mashrabiya is better visible. In a later stage, I
shall develop beter this part of the street too :-)

Fascinating (perhaps someday my virtual Kabul may look similarly)... the
wall and street textures: are they bitmaps or procedural?

And mashrabiya woodwork - a friend of mine (www.ismailmohr.de) truly
would drool on it! But, alas, I could not convince him of raytracing
until now, despite PoV-Ray being a perfect tool for Islamic art design!

See you in Khyberspace!

I am sure it will!

The textures are procedural bitmaps, meaning bitmaps with a heavy
layering over them.

This is a fairly simple one for a start. I shall probably try some more
difficult ones too... Meshes by the way, like everything here.

Some small and larger changes, both viewpoints.

Just stop being so good. ;-)
Maybe the reflective floor tiles are just too level.
Excellent work.

Oh hum... Well, well, thank you, hum... ;-)

> Maybe the reflective floor tiles are just too level.

That is bit of concern indeed. I could slightly vary height and maybe
y-rotation of each tile, and probably vary reflection/specular values
too. Note that when furniture and consumers are brought in, the floor
will loose part of its uniformity.

Thanks :-)
