Hi(gh)!

Finally I got some decent results with blurred reflection (bumps 0.25, 
40 texture layers, normals scaled to 0.001)... but I had to correct 
max_trace_level from 5 (default) to 2! The first image (default level) 
took about 40 minutes, the second only 5'43 minutes...

Try duplicating your dice: One instance with the 40-layer blurred 
reflections and "no_reflection no_radiosity no_shadow", and the other 
with just a single layer and "no_image".

(Of course this is only good if you don't have any straightforward 
mirrors in your scene.)
