Hello,
This image upload is a response to a request from the general discussions.
see under: "Rendering recursive objects (Menger Sponge)"
The scene shows Menger Sponges going from Level 6 to 0.
What do you think of it?
Does anyone of you see any improvements for the scene?
Thanks for any feedback.
Terabyte

maybe zoom in a bit for more detail. possibly a mono-chrome color scheme
... darker on the inside lighter towards the out. maybe some back
lighting too. just add a 2nd light source ... shadowless

It's a menger sponge, which is quite as bland to me as a plain cube.

How about making it a small decorative detail in a larger scene?

I like it, even the color gradient as it gives a bit a feel
as if it were a building partially lighted from the inside.
Maybe subdue the hues somewhat, though.

You could use CSG to actually cut out the smaller cubes
from the big one (as with a puzzle, or one corner partially
broken off).
The text is bit too invasive, maybe just have it written
on the side of the sponge?

Speaking as an American, it looks like there needs to be a bald eagle
perched on it somewhere. Other countries might disagree. :-)
Seriously, tho, it looks cool. Maybe a bit of swirly warp to the colors, to
offset the rigid squareness?

Well, I'm from Luxembourg, and our countries flags share the same colors.
Indeed, the image file on my computer is called "Patriotic Menger Level 6"
Could also be american...
