As far as I am concerned, this is the final version of this scene. Thanks to
Sam Benge for the textured_fog macro

That's really impressive. The fog contributes a lot to the mood of the scene. It
feels very ominous!

This is really nice Thomas, so moody and <cough> Spartan (sorry, couldn't help
myself).
Do you plan to render a higher resolution version?? This shot would make a great
desktop wallpaper at 1600x900 (or higher)!

Thank you indeed, Robert. No, for the moment I do not plan a higher
resolution. I am content with the image as is and the render would block my
other projects for too long. But who knows? a moment of low creativity might
trigger it :-)

Thank you indeed, Dave! Sam's fog is a great macro for this kind of scene. I
added a scattering media (type 5) with density to complete the scene.

A very evocative image; and I do like that fog. I also love the 'widescreen'
aspect ratio; it really makes the scene stand out.
I actually didn't know what 'hoplite' meant until seeing your WIPs and looking
it up on-line! The shield is a work of art.

Very nice!
The colour scheme makes it look like he's on Mars, which is an interesting
coincidence because I'm currently reading Dan Simmons' "Olympos", the sequel to
"Ilium". Ancient Achaeans on Mars is something that occurs in the plot...
Will this warrior be making a return in future work? It seems a shame to put all
that effort into the modelling to have him half-hidden by fog and distance :)

You've conveyed a wonderful sense of mood in this work, Thomas. I'm glad the
textured fog worked out as well as it did. I was expecting a much larger final
image, but I can understand about wanting to move on to other projects (and not
wishing to be tied down by a long render).
Great work on the model, but it's a shame that most of his details are lost :(
