Image #1 was generated with POV-Ray 3.7 beta 38, using the subsurface
scattering feature. SSLT samples setting was 200, 20. Notice how the
noise shows a distinct pattern.
Image #2 was generated with a modified beta 38, using the same
subsurface settings, but generating SSLT sampling directions from a
halton sequence instead of the default random generator. Notice how
there is much less pattern in the noice.
Image #3 and #4 were generated with SSLT samples set to 2000, 200.
Notice how the pattern in the noise, while having become significantly
reduced, is still present with beta 38 (image #3) despite the high
sample count, whereas there's no visible pattern remaining with the
modified version (image #4).
