Hi again!
I've done some more Lego rendering! This time I'm playing with the Lego
City Police Car - there are lots of these in the Lego Batman game :-)
I've added the POV-Ray code and the model in various formats to my
website. See the following link for details:
http://www.pearse.co.uk/lego/models/policecar.html
I'm still experimenting with creating better renders and I recently
found a great link on how to render more realistic Lego models by Stijn
'Koyan' Derudder. You can find his tutorial here:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=163897
Having had a quick scan through the tutorial he mentions that he used
MegaPov for the radiosity lighting and HDRI lighting (see links below)
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Koyan/Tutorial/tutorial_chapter04.txt
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Koyan/Tutorial/tutorial_chapter05.txt
Are these features now incorporated into POV-Ray 3.6?
Have fun
Reuben

Radiosity, yes since 3.1.
HDRI, you need 3.7 for that.

In the chapter 4, I see a gross error:
When rendering using radiosity, all
parts automatically get an ambient value of 0, and a diffuse of 1.
That's absolutely false. When using radiosity, any ambient and diffuse
defined in a scene, anywhere, are never automaticaly altered in any way.
You need to take care of that.
