Here's a couple more test renders from my rocky tetrahedron. I'm trying to get
it smoother on the faces, and only really craggy on the edges and vertices. The
placement still needs fiddling but it's getting closer! The grass/moss-effect is
not final; the colour needs work and I shall remove it from the peaks eventually
too.
The first one (immediately below) rendered in a couple of minutes (just 2
lights), the second image rendered in ~4 hours (modest radiosity settings).

This is exciting! Mysterious crags and caverns: could be the stage for
strange exploration parties...
Here, the green moss is less convincing than in the first image.

Yes, exciting structures! I also like the texture of this one.

Indeed! :)

The texturing is identical; it's just the brightness of the radiosity. This will
be turned down in the final version, and I'm still playing with the colours in
any case.
Here's a new version; I'm pretty happy with the rock shapes and placement here.
Just texturing and foliage placement to fine-tune I think...

Looks good indeed. I could imagine bats roosting in those caverns. Somehow,
it makes me also think of those caverns that have been spotted on Mars. Like
there, this planetoid seems to have a volcanic origin.

These are very interesting. Seems like there is a lot of potential
there. I like the vague anthropomorphism from the symmetry, or also he
play on symbol. Makes me think of a photograph I saw once where the
photographer arranged his composition such that a peace sign was hidden
in the arrangement.
