Perhaps you could add an english translation of the not available yet
message.
It was not immediately obvious that the arrow in the wateringcan image
was for download. I expected it to take me back to the menu, in stead I
have now some of Gilles source on my machine. Or rather I haven't, tried
it twice; one archive has 3632 bytes missing and the other 4096.

Thank you!
Nice idea, nice images. But how the calendar actually works is a bit
confusing. Only 14 windows? No numbers? Do you have to remember which
images you already looked at? And clicking on the image is not a very
intuitive way to return to the house. For getting rid of a maximized
window without browser controls and obvious navigation elements, I
suppose many people just close the window like I did ;)

Hello Thierry,
The pictures are nice, but this is not an Advent Calendar.
An Advent calendar is a special calendar used by some Christians to count the
days of Advent.
The calendar reminds us of the coming of Jesus as a baby...
and the Second Coming of Jesus as King.
Advent - from the Latin word advenio,
meaning "to come", "the coming of Christ our saviour"
Adventus is the Latin word for "coming"

And why an advent calendar would necessarily be related to Christians
beliefs ?
My point of view is that christmas celebrations are a good opportunity
to regroup families and to take good time, whatever you believe in, and
that's what is coming up ! That leads me to say : this is an advent
calendar.

Um, what kind of web page is that? It wreaked havoc with my Konqueror
window.

Because Christmas is about Christ!!!!
Because "Advent Calendar" has ONLY ONE meaning Advent of Christ!
It's like saying rgb<1,0,0> is Blue....... It is factually inaccurate.

Strange ... it's only simple text, 3 images and a little CSS for basic text
formatting. I have tried it on Konqueror 3.5.7 on Debian etch and I have no
problem.

You might not base yourself on appearances. In english, christmas is based on
"christ" because the religious side of this event has been felt as the most
important. In italian it is "Natale", for the same reasons. In french we say
Christ because the relation between the population and the religion is weaker.
All this to say that an event can not have only one meaning : this meaning will
be different from one person to an other. To use your analogy, "blue" can
represent the sky as well as the water.
