Looks good.

I think the light and the lens flares would show up better if the lighting
of remainder of the image were darker.

I figured the universal egg deserved a lens flare, the egg doesn't really
provide much light to the scene, it's just ambient 1 and radiosity.

Yes, I agree. I think you should leave it like this (I have no better 
alternative to suggest  :-)  )

It is a nice Daliesk scene. I shall keep it in my folder of  "Outstanding 
Renders"  !
