This is my second image in POVRAY. All except the brickwall and floor
were modeled in GMAX. I still have a lot of details to add - guage
faces on the welding rig, cup of coffee on the tool chest, etc., but so
far , I'm pleased with the results. POVRAY is fantastic!

Looking good! Now you also need to 'dirty' it up a little.

Of Course! Out of all the programs I have on this machine, PoV-Ray* is the
most enjoyable, I wind down with it, I get relaxed, and it's been like that
for the last 7 or so years now, more or less non-stop, (and I *still* have
much to learn!) ;)
*With my favourite associated progs too of course.
Keep going with it, it's worth it!
:o)

The "garage" floor look to clean, I've never seen a garage with a reflective
terrazo floor before... That's the kind of floor that don't want any reflection.

Hi Alain;
Actually, there are all kinds of concrete floor sealers that will give
that kind of reflectivity and many upscale dealerships use them. As to the
texture, I just liked the stone look better than concrete, it reminds me of
a Porsche dealership in Miami.

Good work George!
While you are adding details, pay attention also to the texture of the brick
wall. A bit of bump mapping would be nice for a start.
POV-Ray fantastic? Oh boy! It's my most used application by far since about
10 years! And still not bored with it.

Thanks for all the input! Of course, you are right about the floor
- it might look good in a Ferrari dealership but it's just not right for
Gramp's Garage. It needs to be more of a plain (and dirty) concrete.
And thank you Thomas for the tip about the bricks - real bricks are
rough and somewhat porous - I'll work on that, too.
Thanks, again.
