The plastic screwdriver handle is spot-on. Looks real (as do the screws, of
course.)
The screwdriver shank needs *something to reflect* on top, other than just
the screws on the side. Would definitely increase the reality factor there.
The rust spots on the screws can be improved, I believe, by reducing the
pigment's fade-to-transparency distance (tightening up the spots), and
adding a grainy normal there--micronormals, I suppose. Just to the rust.

Hi!
What I like:
- the plastic handle of the screwdriver
- wood texture & normal on the table
What I like less:
- metal texture on the screws & screwdriver
I think the metal parts should be more glossy... or maybe not.

Warp,
This is coming along nicely. I really like stills like this.
There are two things that are bothersome to me, though. First, the two screws that
are overlapping seem to be a little bit inside of each other. Second, the wood could
use a little more work. Aside
from those two things, it is looking really good!

Very nice, as the other versions. Some nitpicking: The focal blur is too
strong for my taste and I'm not sure about the wood texture: To me it
looks as if the colors should blend more into each other. Right now the
contrast is pretty hard (with respect to the colors).
But as I said: Very nice!

Florian

Nice. It looks a bit oversaturated to me, but that might just be a
monitor difference?
One thing that stands out at me is the rust on the heads of the screws.
I wouldn't expect it to be seamless across the slot. E.g., on the screw
underneath the other screw, the rust goes across the slot, just as wide
inside the slot as outside, and picks up on the other side. This just
doesn't look right to me. The topmost-leftmost one looks better (altho I
realize it's the same texture) because it looks like there's a
discontinuity along the slot.
FWIW. :-)

wonderful screwdriver modelling. Nice plastic handle. Metal texture still
not quite right. And the wood right side black hole still doesn't look
quite as deep as it suggests because it's almost entirely lightned, no
shadow in the normal.

I have to admit that I have no idea how to make a realistic-looking
metallic texture for the screwdriver...

If you want a reflective clean metal, like crome or polished stainless
steel, the material is basically defined by what it reflects. Using
environment mapping and real reflections rather than phong or specular
highlighting (which tend to look more plasticky) can help considerably.
You can also overlay a simple reflective chrome with layers of grease,
dust, dirt, rust etc and still have the reflectivity partially revealed.
