I had an idea, but I was unable to create an interesting scene
around it which would have worked as well as I wanted. Anyways,
I decided to post the image anyways.

Imo, It is well done, especially the wood and tile textures/finishes, as
well as the lighting of the space. The only thing that disturbs me is the
table+glasses. Their textures are too basic, and the deformation betrays
the...
Wait a minute! The size of the boxes too! Have you tried to model that
optical illusion where objects appear larger than usual, in the background?
If so, very well done! ...except for the table!

Hmm, my guess is that those lights are actually spherical lights, possibly a
circular area_light in a while loop, rotating 180 degrees around an axis.

Why rotate it? You can use orient to do that. It effectively rotate the
area_light's array so it's oriented toward the current location.

interesting ..... after looking at this yesterday morning I made a trip to
local hardware store for refinishing supplies. I stopped by the lighting
section and saw all kinds of lamps and fixtures that might look cool in this
scene ..... perhaps you should visit your local hardware store. It could be
inspirational!!!!
