Subsurface scattering?

How did you do the light bloom effect?

Sort of. It's a (fickle) technique I developed some time back. It pretty
much relies on light_groups, two instances of the target object, a merge
of all scene objects, some absorption media and interior fading. Vague,
isn't it? :) You can do a search of my name on these newsgroups to find
out how it's done.

It's a post-process effect done in POV itself. Another search for
"luminous color bleeding" or "luminous bloom" will find you the code for
that.

I have to admit to using some selective gaussian blurring in the GIMP.
Cheating, I know.

Spooky. She needs to be floating thru the leafless trees of a haunted
forest...

A very cool effect, this image is really interesting to look at and not like
any POV image I have seen before. Very artistic which is something I am
jealous of as most of my images are just copies of objects/photographs
etc.. It's great to see something so different here.

The model is actually intended for another POV scene I'm working on.
Perhaps i'll finish it someday...
