I built myself a photographer's studio, to use as a test scene when I'm
working on objects/textures. It's based on any number of photos I've seen
with pure white backgrounds and nice lighting & reflections (achieved by
lots of high-contrast stuff surrounding the white background, since plain
white reflections look dull!).
Anyway I'm gonna stick the source in p.b.s-f for anyone who wants to stick
their objects in the scene.
So how do you think it compares to real-world(tm) photography? :)

very cool, man! Simple and effective! And the disposition of the white
boxes around create a nice HDRI-like effect on the metal ball...
The blobby toy is nice too. :)

It looks very good, you've achieved a very nice high-contrast look of
umbrellas/light-boxes with minimal code. I will play around with it, I
think...
Also, the glittery texture on the blobby thing is really nice.

Very nice!
This can be very useful indeed.
Now, there should also be a studio with a dark background, and the three
lightsources (front, back, diffuse, wasn't it?)

Looks like a decent approximation of a setup with softboxes.
I'm really liking the red metallic texture, btw.. :)

You mean key, fill, and back light.
This scene seems to work well enough with just the 1 light and radiosity,
but obviously you can change the scene to get the desired effect.

No, the guy who runs my server forgot to renew the domain name, again, he
does it every time it lapses :( I believe that squatter site is actually
affiliated with the people who normally register it... I think...
Anyway it should be fixed in a few days... I hope.

Good luck, FWIW I use a rather large hosting company as my registrant
and have never had problems. I get friendly reminders when its going to
expire.
