OK, here's a new version with a different floor (ment to look like sand)
and now with radiosity as well.
I'm pretty please with it, personally. :-)
Right, now how about modelling the *glassware* that's actually supposed
to be the focal point... LOL!

That's looking better. It looks like your block is actually sitting on
something now.

Get on with it then, don't hang about...

Almost looks like a stone fragment I used to own as a child :) I like it

Er, yuh! And it looks more like actual water rather than some CG thing...
FWIW, 5 hours for this image. Which shouldn't be too bad for the final
thing. I doubt adding some glassware will slow it down much.

I have 2 glasses now. Very simple ones. I'm about to add a whisky glass.
Tell me, what is the name of that quadratic that looks like a blunt cone?

Yeah, I have a collection of stone fragments on my wall. My mum keeps
buying me things... not sure why.
Anyway, sadly the stone texture is just one of POV-Ray's built-in ones.
But hey, it looks nice.

8-O That was quick!

Paraboloid: x^2+z^2=y

Why don't you find a nice rock texture and use it as a bump map? It's
fun trying to get it right and watching the render(s).

How long does it *take* to place 5 cylinders and 3 torii? ;-)

Cool. I just found out what shape the bottom of my whisky glass will be. ;-)

I try not to use bitmaps and I try not to use meshes. I prefer the
conceptual purity of using only algorithmically defined shapes and
textures. ;-)

LOL! That's the funniest thing you've ever said! :op
Ok, but you do also say, "try not to use..." It might be worth a try
after you've sorted it all out algorithmically. ;)
