Hi all,
A couple of months ago, I presented a first wip of this scene. In between, I
have remodeled the complete building to mesh2 and added a number of props.

There is one bizarre feature here that I cannot explain! Can you spot it?
And perhaps help me to overcome it?

Comments always welcome!

Thomas

Very nice picture.
Only the groundfloor looks too industrial. Antique tiles were made with
stones.

Yes, the shadow of the hat. How weird is that? Is it actually on the
persons head??

        Very nice though, Thomas!

You won!! In fact I discovered the why: In Poseray I had switched on the
no_shadow flag by mistake, before exporting to POV-Ray.

Thanks a lot Steve. I am now working on a radiosity version that is not too
long in rendering :-(
For the record, Without radiosity, this scene renders somewhat slower in
version 3.7, although I have a dual core pentium. I don't know why.

The tiles are supposed to be sandstone!! I used PM 2Rings' macro that was
discussed here a couple of month's ago. However, the scene is not really
antique in itself, so perhaps those guys have broke up the old floor and
replaced it by a new one :-)

Just lifted the columns into the air and slipped the new floor in underneath
eh? :-)

Good image, by the way. I think the eavesdropper's pose still looks a little
'over-acted', but the overall scene - viewpoint, mood etc are superb. I look
forward to radiosity versions!

No, not really. In fact, you don't really see it because the tiles are
rather thin, but both tiles and columns are traced upon the same underlying
surface.

Thank you Bill!
Yes the pose is still not good (in fact, it is not changed at all!!) I am
working on a new model, or, alternatively, I will test the presence of
another (female) person, tucking at his arm. Just to show that curiosity is
not only reserved for women ;-) <runs away fast>

However... This is difficult... I have to look into this matter to see how I
can cut the tiles properly around the columns.... Somebody any brilliant
suggestion??

I really like where this image is going. I like how it tells a story, but
not the whole story. It really gets the imagination going!

I really like thought through scenes like this, complete with foreground
objects and background details.

How did you make that rope? With some macro?
Maybe I could swith the ones Im using on my catapult scene. :)

Nice job! And I must admit I didnt see the missing shadow until I read about
it. XD
