A Bricriu-class corvette from Jovian Chronicles by Dream Pod 9, based
mostly on the blueprint plan views. Stabilised sometime earlier this
spring, this project was the first thing I've written in POV in years -
and managed to get me modelling stuff again.
Should some kind soul be generous enough to offer critique, please
consider this just a model, rather than a scene. Scene composition,
much like texturing, is alien and horrifying to my engineer
mindset. ;-)

Nice texturing. that grey at the back esp'. I like the combination of
sharp/rounded edges. Maybe it needs a mast of some sort...

Looks nice. It's a spacecraft with a submarine look to it, which somehow
indirectly gives it a fast & stealthy first-strike-capable look as well.
I like the contrast of colors but will it land anywhere where it'll need
camoflauge? I'm not familiar with Jovian Chronicles so I'm speaking with
plenty of ignorance.. I think some windows would be nice to get a sense of
scale and so my mind stops trying to put a pistol-grip on it ;) Nice work!

No, transatmospheric craft in the JC setting are pretty much limited to
small craft and dedicated heavy lift vehicles. The DarkOliveGreen-based
colour is more of a nod towards the "iconic colours" in DP9's art - CEGA
is mostly green and brown while the Jovians, for example, use a lot of
white and blue.

Aye, scale is easy to lose with so few known reference points, but the
setting does not feature exterior windows on military hardware and the
airlock door on the side of the dorsal bulge does not quite show up at
this size (though that could be helped with a bit of circumference
texturing, I guess). If it helps, the total length of a Bric is 180 metres
without and roughly 200 with the drive guides (the arm-mounted paddles
around the thruster).
Eventually I want to build a spacedock scene or something similar with EVA
pods, small craft and spacesuited figures, but that goal's still a few
corners away.

The gray texture does please my eye as well, especially considering its
simplicity - rgb 0.4, diffuse 0.9, brilliance 3 and a 'dents' normal.

Why is the Beatles' song "Yellow Submarine" going through my head now?
