Decided to make some effort on the ship's boats after seeing a post recently 
that contained a link to Free!ship. The hull shape was created in Free!ship 
and then brought into LightWave to add the seats, ribs (not finished yet), 
floor, etc. Finally I brought it into POV where I will finish it up, adding 
coiled ropes, oars, water casks, bailers, boat hooks, etc. Still needs work 
on textures, especially the white planks.

Here is the boat mounted on the aft davits. While the purist in me is a
little dissapointed about using an external modeller for the stern boat, I
do like the results & I think the method was very fast compared to my
original modelling of the hull using patches.

Wonderful works! Both of them! I wished I could manage FREE!ship...

My need would be the modelling of ancient Roman ship hulls, such as I show 
below as an illustrated example. Michael Sobers helps me already. Anyone 
else interested in this project? I can give creditlines at the FORUM NAVIS 
ROMANA.
