"Construction"
Here I have started to add details to the middle section of the SENECA. To
limit render time, I removed all other parts of the huge ship. I am
intending to use the stunning greebles macro of Zeger Knaerpen (please see
his postings in this newsgroup) for some parts of the SENECA.
Other SciFi artists are cordially invited and welcome to join the SENECA
project. I even look for talented interior (room) designers as the SENECA
has a number of decks where cameras could be placed!
Comments welcome.

Only one question:
What will happen to the windows when you
turn up AA? I mean, they look kind of strange..
Otherwise, cool project :)

Hi Stefan,
thanks for your feedback! You mention the windows. I actually use already
AA, which is now on level 0.3.
They are a part of the multi-layered texture I am using and have a tall
rectangular shape. I covered the object at first with a pure light texture
(ambient), and put over it a purely blue texture, and finally a texture of
gray-painted plates with a tranparent color where the light texture can be
seen through. The blue grounding gives a descent but needed effect to the
gray plates, but also to the windows in some cases.
However, you say the windows look strange. Can you give me some more
details? I would be in need to know what makes the windows looking strange.
There are a few locations where the windows and decks are actually cut-out
and a camera could be placed inside the ship. But nearly all others are
texture-based.
Waiting for your reply,
Sven

Greetings!
There is a small sample video of the huge SENECA, an imperial carrier ship.
While the SENECA is, meanwhile, in a much more advanced development stage,
the video clip shows her in her earlier but still very impressive days.
AVI (MS MPEG4 v2 video codec and Microsoft ADPCM sound codec), ca. 2.98 MB
--> Newsgroup: "povray.binaries.animations", similar topic name as this one
Enjoy!
Sven
