This is very beautiful. Nice atmoshpere.
I would like to see the camera lifted some km for that cloud
shapes become visible.
Some higher Moutains bumping out of the fog would look great, too.
But that are quite work intensive ideas I fear...

Thank you indeed.
Yes, that would mean a totally different scene from what I am working on
now. This was only a test render that turned out well. In a later stage, I
may take this up again, though...

It's very nice. I like simple, atmospheric scenery images like this.
However... why is your moon incorrectly lit? Shouldn't it just be a thin
crescent pointing toward the star?

Only if the star were the only light source here. But the whole
scene makes me think there must be another sun somewhere out of
view.

Thank you Bill, and Hans.
Like in the original scene, this is a double sun system. The main sun (out
of view) is lighting the scene; the far away yellow star lights the scene
too, but much less. It even doesn't really make shadows, or, at least,
noticeable ones.

Thank you Stefan. I think it is mainly its size, making it dominating the
scene, that makes it impressive. I have experimented with different planet
maps, but in the end the Moon map was the most satisfactory. And combined
with the adequate bump map, it becomes almost "real life" :-)

Delicate drawing. It takes back some paintings of Anna Ancher, in Skagen, on
the nothern end of Danmark. I think Anna Ancher found herself in her
countryside all the rules of impressionism. You can see some of her works
here.
