Getting in the Holiday spirit, so made toys. I'm seriously considering a toy
train on a section of track, originating from under the handle of the
jack-in-the-box to center-stage, but thought maybe I shouldn't crowd the
picture.
And is it me, or does the face on the jack-in-the-box look too psycho? It
seems every time I try to do a clownish face, it ends up being
unintentionally scary...

Make its lips rounder, less angular... and another nitpick: I doubt
whether the three gray spiky things to the lower left are really
suitable for small children!
See you in Khyberspace!

Those spiky things are called jacks and are a child's game.
The idea is to spin them on a point or toss them while bouncing a ball or
such.
The problem is that four (not three) equatorial points should have the
little spherical protrusions.
See e.g. http://www.blog.speculist.com/archives/jacks.jpeg
So with jacks and jack-in-a-box all you need is a jack-o-lantern to get
really scary.

Caltrops have all sharp points, usualy 4 of them, so that one is guaranteed to point
up. A nasty
variation hace barbed points so that you hurt yourself some more removing them...
OUCH!

Have you ever stepped on jacks in your sock/bare feet in the middle of
the night whilst stumbling to the bathroom?
I stand by my statement. XD

Just to clear up the controversy: Yes, I intended them as jacks, along with
the pink ball they make a small set. It's a girl's game, if you macho types
don't recognize it! :-)

No, by the time my kids had jacks, they were more responsible. I think I
still have little square dents on the bottom of my feet from legos in the
same situation, however.

Never! I don't have children and never owned any jack set. I did step on Legos
(mines), a Tonka
truck or two, Meccano bolts and pieces, not to mention small and sharp stones and
glass bits...
Sory Hosia, but jack is not only a girl's game.

Oh, alright, it isn't. But I've never seen a boy play jacks.
