Hello
I send a drawing destinated to an advertising poster for a sound library
for blind. Of course, blind persons will not see it, but the family or
friends will tell them about this library.
The modeling is entirely done with Rheingold 3d, a powerfull modeler. I
think, there is no limits working with this soft. Rendering and materials
are done with moray after importation of the meshes.
Your critics will help me

All elements look very realistic... except the book!
The pages' slight crumbling is nice but I would expect some deeper shadows
in-between them. Also the inner binding seems too straight, forming an
almost perfect triangle. The sides of that should be more rounded at least.
Note that you never could close this book! The thickness of all the pages is
double the width of the outer binding!
Now, I opened a thick hardcover book (a dictionary), and there does not seem
to be a triangle at all! In fact, the inner binding is a gentle convexe
curve.

How about changing that book into something
in Braille (Is that the spelling? You know, the little dots..).
It just seems more logical to me..

Thank you Stefan for your idea.
But, in fact the poster does'nt speak about blind people. The blind persons
who can read Braille is a club. They perfectly know the sound library. The
poster is destinated to visually impaired persons or persons who becomes
suddenly blind. All those persons does'nt know and will never know Braille.
Learning Braille with the fingers has to be done very young. After that,
it's too late and too difficult. And, of course, blind peuple cannot see
posters! I want to advertise the exitence of the sound library. The family
and the people close to the impaired person have to be acquainted of the
existence of such library. So the person will go from the paperbook to the
audio book.
I hope I answered you question?

Question answered :)
Still, IMHO, a poster should communicate
the message of, in this case, the product.
What I mean is that you should try to find
a connection between the visual presentation
and the sound library. And as you aim towards
the seeing people, of course, what illustrations
makes them think of a sound library for visually
impaired people? I'm not saying you are wrong
I mean, in my case the first thing that lept to mind
about the book was the fact that I would have
done it in Braille. Right or wrong.. I don't know..
but that was my first impression. :)

Hmm... there is an idea there...
perhaps slightly out of focus, but just for hinting at the idea?

Thomas
My image begins a streak of multiple poster telling what is done in the
association. So, I have choosen to show all those thinks every tume with the
same view. So I will speak about Toy library for blind, braille library,
locomotion (teaching walk in the streets), basletry, and so on...

Ah yes! That's an approach I was not aware of.
Waiting with interest for your next version!
