Bought one of these, so I had to model it with POV-Ray:

Urh? I thought Rubik's revenge was 5x5x5...

Then there's the always-popular [ethnic] cube which is 1x1x1...

I believe the 5x5x5 is called the Rubiks Professor, Revenge is definately
4x4x4...

HTH

Either way, thats a really neat scene, its simple, but its very effective,
plus I think the lighting and the reflection on the plane is excellent!

Cheers Dre

Aaaarrrgghhh ... this is so amazing! I'm halfway through modeling the
original cube .. with rotations! Mine is animatable in that it does a
full rotation between positions rather than just swapping faces around.

I'll keep going with mine coz I'm enjoying it, but again I say aaarrrrghhhh!

Cheers!

Nope, Revenge is 4x4x4; the Professor cube is 5x5x5.

Nice!

BTW: I didn't realize they still sold new ones.
This is good to know in case my current one ever
wears out.

That was one of the first things I modeled with POVRay way back in 1995. I
made almost all of the others too: snake cube, pyraminx, etc. Check out
these 10-year old renders: http://www.redrival.com/scorpius/povray.htm

Don't throw away your old one though! The older it is, the easier it is to
turn. If you've had it for a while and suddenly switch to a brand new one,
you'll find it extremely stiff.

This is SO true - I just wish mine wouldn't explode when I turn it. <G>
