Very little POV-Ray time recently, so I've been restricting myself to
color work (a long-time sub-hobby). Six here.

Wow! Just zoom in. I like the green version.

Pretty. My first impression was glass pannels.

Thanks. Zoom in gives me a bit of an idea. There is a real challenge to
this type of color arrangement in POV-Ray, but the modern Abstract
Expressionist (Deco-Art) thing shown here isn't really very interesting
to me(1).

Been thinking of ways to incorporate "soft" color arrangement into more
pleasing scenes. I've got some ideas, but they require modeling and have
to wait until I find new employment.

(1)However, it does only take a few hours to make one now that I've got
some helper macros written. I'll bet I could fill a webpage with dozens
of them and sell giclees to fools for (gasp!) *almost* what it costs to
print a giclee. :)

Thank you. Seeds for another good idea.

There's a decent amount of depth given by the colors themselves, but i think
it could be exagerated with POV a bit more, since the canvas isn't just a
two dimensional thing. It looks like all the colors are on the same plane
basically. I think it would look neat if they were at distinct depths.

nice work.

Perhaps, but this would force a fixed position for some light source.
Flat is nice, because the colors exist "as is" instead of "as is when
hanging near a certain window" or "as is under a specific light source".

I wanted to get away from the airy feeling of cg color work I have seen.
I did some airy stuff for window manager logos. The logos ended up on a
Wiki somewhere titled (not by me) "Aqua" and "Green Illumination"
(blech). I want to define colors using actual pigment rather than light.
If I were going to use any of these pigment combinations in a "real"
image, the image would definitely be "flat".

French IIRC for "little squirt". An expensive art print technique.
