After a long time not poving I got an inspiration and started a scene.
Any suggestions how to continue? I don't want to start modelling too
complex objects but I would still like more details to the image.

I'm not sure about the proper word for it, but what about a safety ring, one
of those floating thingies you throw in after someone goes overboard?
Or a rubber ducky. :-)

It looks like this pool has a uniform depth -- how about tilting the
bottom to give deep & shallow ends. And maybe a diving board?
If it is supposed to be a swimming pool instead of just a backyard pond,
a change of scale might make it look a bit bigger.
I like the "bent" pole effect (just ior, of course), but I think the
ripples are too big to match the existing scale. Just a couple of
personal thoughts...

It's supposed to be just a decorative pool, not a swimming pool.
Something a bit abstract.

My immediate inclination would be to elaborate on the tile-grid v
ripples-circle patterns somehow. Surround the pool with grass forced
into a grid arrangement? or a grid of tiles that contain circles? or
some other such play.
Alos right now there is quite a mystery about what is causing the
ripples. Perhaps enclude other phenomena that seem to defy causality?

Among other things, Warp saw fit to write:

I don't see the ripples' reflecting back from the walls, are they? I'm not
talking about light reflection, but surface waves reflection.
It also needs some insects flying around the lamp.

Not sure where you intend to go with this, but a few thoughts:
What is the subject of the image? Is it the ripples? I'm wondering what
caused them. Ripples are generally a secondary effect, created by something
more important, so it's strange that they're the primary focus in this
image. Maybe that's what you're going for; if not, why not put something
else in there to hold the viewer's attention? What's the pool for, and
what's it being used for? The image creates a lot of unanswered questions.
And what's with the stick?
If you're going for realism, the grass needs some work and the fence could
benefit from a little more detail or variation (periodic fence posts, for
instance). Maybe also work on the transition from grass to pool edge (unless
you're going to cover that with some sort of grass mesh).
I have a hard time getting a sense of scale; judging by the fence, those
lights look like they're about knee high, the stairs look smaller than my
feet, and the pool looks about half a foot deep.

The waves are calling for a reason to exists. While there's a clear,
certain center of them, it looks like some weird, invisible force is
moving the water. It can't be the stick, or there would be other waves
too (nearer to the stick).
IF you're heading realistic, I mean ;).

That's an interesting idea.
My intention was really to create odd-looking, almost unnatural ripples.
All by themselves they don't work as I want. The viewer will only think
the modelling is crappy. However, if other things in the scene would
clearly also defy naturality, that would be a better hint.
Any suggestions?

They are. They just decay so fast that it's hard to see...
