They're interesting. Not very efficient, but interesting.

you used and how you managed to get the model into POV?

The engineering department at work uses Deep Exploration. I convinced
one of the guys to download a few of the .ply files and convert them
into something a little more useful for me.

Why, oh why does everybody have so much processing power?
What settings did you use on what kind of system?

Settings ---> Cranked.
System ---> XP, P4@3.2, 2GB RAM, Dual Cupholders.
Personality ---> Patient.

I had them converted to .3ds so I could bring them into PoseRay.
