I'm going cross-eyed staring at this thing, any helpful
criticisms welcome.
Notes.
1. megapov for the campus_probe.hdr from Paul Debovec.
2. Far distant trees reflected in lake courtesy of Arbaro.
3. Radiosity_Normal from rad_def.inc but whith count upped to 500.
4. No AA yet.
5. Nearby overhanging leaves are image maps on meshes.

Beautiful picture.
If I could change one thing, it would be the bark on the tree.. IMO it
looks too gray, probably needs to be lightened a bit.

The background looks a bit flat, try adding an object in the water to give
it a sense of depth. Since it is a very peacefull picture at the moment, a
swan ( unsure about the spelling, i mean the large, white, swimming bird)
would be great.
The rest looks great!

Hmm, yes, maybe, or a rotting tree stump, something like that, I
feel a swan might detract too much from the main subject.
There is a slight fog that's supposed to impart distance, it may
be a little too under played, and there are little flecks (discs)
on the water foreground but they're not obvious without AA.

Wow! Major improvement over your last WIP!
As someone already mentioned, the tree bark is too light, as are the shadows
in general IMO, and where the leg meets the rock doesn't look right, I
would expect some marking of the rock surface, or bondo or something...

Tree bark dutifully darkened by a factor of 2.
I agree about the contact between rock and leg, I'm just not sure
what to do about it. I can always model a shape I guess.
Not sure about the shadows, I'm not doing anything special, just
letting the hdr probe do its thing. I may adjust the brightness
later.

I'd go for some lotus flowers or water lilys. A drifting tree branch, maybe with a few
leaves, could
also be nice.
