So, here's the image all my cat-babbling in off-topic was (and is) about. As
you can clearly see, the image is a WIP. The prints left by the cat are yet
to be optimized and tweaked till perfection, also, there's no background
yet. Another missing thing is an empty bird's nest in the tree with a small
sign saying "Back in Spring". Full title of the image is "Miss you when
you're gone".
Comments and suggestions appreciated, but it's a WIP, so don't expect too
much, things might drastically change...
Regards,
Tim

Hard to comment on WIPs like this when we don't know the difference
between finished elements and "known issues".
I think the whole thing has a nice gift card look except for the horizon
line. Fading to black looks very CG. Just changing the color of the
shadow near the horizon line might help.

Ah, yes the horizon. :-) That will be replaced with some mountains, maybe
even some forest on them (but done with some ingenious patterns on far away
objects, as a real forest would probably kill the rendering times). The sky
will also get some media-clouds. All in all, this image shall become a full
near-photorealistic small-poster (but like Gerbera, not for sale :-)
I'm also thinking about adding a fence, or some flowers peeping through the
snow-layer.

Tim

cool idea Tim. I like it a lot. A stray leaf here and there on the tree
might look good. I think the cat should be sitting on a frozen-over birdbath
:)
I look forward to seeing the finished work.

Looks good so far!
I always admire that you're able to put feelings into your images,
opposed to mine, which are pretty much only technical studies. Ah,
perhaps one day, I'll be able to do that myself (right after trying that
very last algorithm for last time... ;)

Following with eager anticipation...
The thing that disturbs me is the size of the dugout Kitty is sitting in.
Where did all that snow go? The lip of displaced stuff looks too small..
Perhaps its compressed? I think I'd toss a cat in the snow to see what sort
of dent it made :)

Yeah, I've been tweaking on that part lately. Don't want a too high
mountain, and I need to reduce the size of the hole appropriately... But
thanks for pointing it out!

:-D Someday, there'll be reports about how my image lead several Povers
around the world to do weird things with their cats... ;-)
