See last post of Philippe Gibone in moray.binaries under same subject, for
origin of thread. Use of the Dome plugin for creating complex roofs.

Hope you like this scene

Yep ! Add my name to the satisfied readers list !

It looks like it is a repeated pattern (on the little houses) : is it a
UV-mapped procedural texture, or an image ?

Thanks! Thanks!! Glad you liked it.
Correct. The walls of the Cliffhangers are an uv_mapped image_map of a
photograph.
The cliff face, of course, is an isosurface with a slope/altitude dependant
texture.

Really? I have no idea. Except in a distant past, when I played Doom on a
mainframe computer, I have not played any games... But the notion is
interesting that there might be some parallel evolution of concepts.

Every old, detailed surreal landscape looks like Myst. Heck, you can
walk along the coast of California and see both Myst and Riven.
