After two weeks rendering on two machines, "Boreal" is finally finished.
Hope it can be seen now that the camera is near a cliff with a distant hill
covered with (hardly detectable) trees.
It has been rendered in 2048*1152 pixels and scaled down via photoshop.
Peak memory was about 1.1 GB.
I skipped a plane and now the only little red spot in the image is on a
woodpecker, which can be hardly seen at all.
Hope you like it.

I certainly do like it - a beautiful image.
I hope you find the time to do one or more images for the povcomp contest
too. I am a fan of your art!

Yes I sense the cliff there. In fact I thought in some detail about how
the scene implied a cliff or serious drop off before I'd read your text.
There is something you bring to these nature scenes that I can't yet put
into words. It has to do with... the feeling like I might have actually
experienced that place.

Wow... The realism is incredible, and the whole scene is truly beautiful.

Very detailed and realistic!
Something about it seems slightly off to me; maybe the plants are too green
or the fog is too blue, I don't know. But it does look very realistic.
