Not yet finished, I would like to add something the give the picture a more
fresh feeling.

Photons are on their way (as always :) ).

Any ideas ?
Maybe water drops on the sphere or a diving board somewhere near a water
hole ?

Next time their will be AA too, it was just a fast render.

Nice and strange! I like it.
I think the 'swimming pool construction' needs a more uneven texture, like
cement. It is too smooth now.

Water drops yes, definitely. A diving board would give some measure of
scale. So would randomly abandoned objects like sunglasses, an empty
longdrink glass, a towel... or totally unrelated things, like a lizard... or
a spider...

Nice.

If your going to tick with this camera angle, I'd change the nearest pool
into a Isosurface, the edges of the water appear too straight and this can
draw the eye.

Uh, you should have used AA... the edges of the square basins are
strongly pixelated!
