I'm thinking of entering more than one image this round, to make up for the fact
that I haven't entered the IRTC for over a year! This is the first one I'm
working on.

Obviously the guy in it needs a lot more detail, but the concept's basically
there. I'm really pleased with the layout of the shot, though I think I need
something to fill up the empty space. I think I might have the figure of death
(i.e. a hooded skull) reflected in the glass, or maybe just subtly in the
background on the right.

Suggestions/comments/criticism appreciated :)

We should see the falling sand to add more realism.

Nice concept anyway

It's a great concept, original but still on topic. I just had a
strange idea for the empty space: what about another adjacent hourglass
with an oasis inside? ;)

Fantastic idea. It will be nice to see the "history" of it.

I see what you're thinking. It's interesting but it somewhat breaks the metaphor
I'm using. The idea is that this one hourglass represents the life of this man,
so why would an oasis be in an houglass?

Though I like the idea of having something representing water. I might try and
subtly sneak something in...
