This is part of an on-going effort to improve one of my early scenes: Orange
Juice

3 views of the kitchen set that will house the scene. There are no objects
outside, hence the blackness. I've finally gotten around to completing the
windows, but I think the glass texture needs some work.

Am I insane modelling a whole kitchen for a scene that will take place only
in a small part? ... The glasses need _something_ to reflect... right? ....
right??

i don't think you are insane doing that as you can also make scenes from
different angles and so.
as an alternative to modelling the kitchen you can use a hdri map or a
sky sphere with a patern and high ambient values. With the current
radiosity possibilities in pov 3.6 it can do the trick very well i
suppose (didn't test it yet but there's some stuff to read about on the
newsgroups these days).

not at all! as lenx mentioned, it could be potentially usefull in the
future. even if not as an hdri, you could always use it just as a stage to
put other objects you're making.
