All those LOTW-projects around here inspired me to do some copycat'ing :p

Here are my landscapes so far: http://sad.nostalg1c.org/pov/landschap/
Rendertimes are between 30 minutes and 2 hours on an Athlon Thunderbird
1.1GHz with 376MB RAM (8MB onboard videoram, hence the strange amount :p)
under Windows Me (I know... :))

As required for a decent LOTW-project, almost everything is randomized (ie:
landscape-shape, clouds, and camera-settings)

Things to do:
- random weather- and time-settings
- random texturing and environment (rocky, sand-dunes, woods, ...)
- placement of actual objects, like rocks, houses, trees, maybe little boats
on the water
- ... :)

I especially like the fog/haze of the 6th image and the landscape 8.
And the clouds look pretty well.

I wonder how you created the water, especially the spray at the shore.

Thanks, I also like 8 a lot :) That grass looks a lot better than intended (it
was actually just a temporary texture :))

As far as I remember, the fog is almost the same in all the images :) Except
that the fog-color depends on the position of the sun :)

thanks :)

It's the same technique Jaime Vives Piqueres used in his LOTW-project, but I'm
thinking about changing it... I believe I can do better :) I have this idea I
want to try out, but I think that'll be for another day :)

Thanks for including the source! Very cool. Enter your own seeds; make
your own world!

:)

I'm glad you like it, but it's not yet finished at all :) Tomorrow I'm gonna
try a new way of doing foam, and if I have the time I will make some things more
controllable, like the density of the clouds and the shape of the landscape
(rocky, rolling hills, one big island, canyons, ...) I have a lot of ideas, but
unfortunately not a lot of time, so, well, I don't know, maybe, probably, it'll
never be finished :)
