You forgot some insanity. :-) Interesting image, but doesn't seem to serve
much purpose, does it?

That's implied :) (And don't even try to say you're not)

To me most of the purpose in an image is to look good, whatever it depicts.

Woohoooooooooooooooooow! That's gotta be some bright light source...
The words "my God, it's full of stars" springs to mind for some reason...
Well, it's the craziest thing I've seen in a while... but I like it.

I Wonder where that comes from :)

Very nice. I like glass scenes with the frills :)
5 days ago this picture was taken on a local pleasure cruise (162K
jpeg, 2272*1704):

Looking forward over the bow. Look at the ripples bottom right of
picture (these extended as far as the eye could see). They are about 2
to 3 cm peak to peak. Look familiar?

Thanks

If you're referring to the "ripples" in the render then "no, they don't look
familiar". The plane in the render is a simple flat plane. I suspect the
"ripples" in the render come from too low photon count.

Crank up the photons count enough and those "stars" will disapear. Look
at the circular patern on the far side, it shows the photons scan
patern: a spiral.

Yeah, I know. In this render I had a count of 2.500.000 , I raised it to
10.000.000 and it's rendering right now (well, has been parsing for the
last 6 hours, memory use upto 2.5 Gb sofar)
