Wow... I like it a lot :)
A small suggestion: Perhaps the sand would look more real if it was more
grainy and less flat...
Other than that, it's very nice!

Very realistic, nice job. Have you tried running this through a contrast
filter? It really accents the lighting, but I don't want to repost modified
versions of people's work. :) If you have more patience, it will come out
even nicer (less color banding) with an adjusted assumed_gama, unless that
was the look you were shooting for. I've noticed that without large changes
to assumed_gamma, the bouncing of light in rad scene tends to wash them out.
Well worth the render time.

The sand doesn't look much like sand, I didn't read the title at first and
couldn't work out what it was meant to be.
BUT, it is one of the most natural looking surfaces I've ever seen! I don't know
what you've done to make that sand but it has a wonderfully soft feeling to it,
the lighting looks almost like a fur shader, and the surface looks indistinct in
a very realistic way. Realistic, but not much like sand, looks sort of like
small crystals of some other sort.
I'm failing utterly to explain what I mean so I'll just say: Please can I have
the source?! :)

Well I'd quite like the source for all of it, but it's the sand that most
interests me :)

Hey LightWave, nice rendition. The surface of the chain is an enamel,
right? Anything else might not survive the beach :)
The chain's surface normal seems rather realistic. It seems to indicate
a product which was created at high temperatures.....
