remy, both last posts from you are interesting, but please note
povray.moray.binaries and povray.binaries.images are located on the same
server. Multiposting the same content is simply wasting of space. Consider
crossposting.

Looks very realstic! I can see the repetition of the bump map on the hat.
You may find it interesting to use a pattern texture instead. That
particular texture resembles:
normal
{
pattern { granite }
}
By changing the scale, etc., you will have a texture that does not repeat.
Also, you will have a virtually infinite amount of resolution which will add
to the realism of the hat.
Nice job!!!

Very nice velvety material on the hat, but the feather looks a little too solid.
It should be feathered round the edge! :)
Also it appears to have a small amount of thickness, as if it's a very short
feather shaped prism.

Good shape!
The rim of the hat seems very thin. I think it needs to be thicker and
rounded off to add that extra something to the image. You might also want
to try adding something to the background, a mug, or perhaps somthing more
cowboy-ish.

This is some damn fine work, though. All the criticism is based on looking
at the image and saying, "This guy knows his stuff!" Did you create the mesh
yourself or did you get it from another program (like Poser?).
