Ear and head are now one. Mesh created with Moray. Now I have to explore the
world of hair and skin textures. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Nice job. How many separate objects are involved? How is Moray's
support for uvmapping?

Thank you. There are three objects: the mesh of the head, and the two eyes.
Moray's UV mapping support is excellent, IMO, although I havn't used it
enough yet for mine to be considered an expert opinion.

I definitely would go for a Mediterranean complexion (for which brown eyes would
suit better) and a short but thick black beard... perhaps also long slighty wavy
scalp hair!
