Long time since I last posted ...
I had some spare CPU time lately, so I put together some glass star, 
used some photons, radiosity, and as I was fearing that the rendering 
would be too fast I added a few wax marbles.

After only 6h22, it doesn't look too bad, so I submit it to your 
appreciation and judgment.
I might try to find an appropriate isosurface for the ground.  :-)

Cool! The spheres remind me of that effect in Lawnmover Man 1. :-)
