hmm, I would lower the diffuse or increase the brilliance and make it more
reflective.
Other than that I could comment on the model or the lighting, but since I
find the modelling and lighting very good, it's difficult to give
constructive comments on those parts of the image :)
Really, nice job, but I would try to make the copper more metal-like :)

More reflective? I think it's reflective enough, IMHO.

I'm thinking it has a lacquered appearance, so the shininess (hilighting and
reflection) could actually be toned down some. That way it would have more
of a bare metal and tarnished look. And the color reminds me of bronze
instead of copper, probably because of its shiny newness which makes it not
look like older copper patina.
Interestingly, I just noticed, the shade globe support collar has closer to
a new penny color. Different from the other parts.
BTW, I love this rendering anyhow. Hope you'll continue to improve upon it.
For instance, lighting its wick at some time.

More like copper with some transparent laquer coating...too shiny, and
non-metallic. Make sure you have "metallic" specified for both the
finish and the reflection, and try some blurred reflection. If you
decide old copper is too hard to get, you could just use polished brass
instead...
Great texture on the lampshade and nice modelling, though.

Excellent subject! The model is very nice. I am surrounded here at work
by ad copy form the 40s and 50s, and this lamp would I believe be very
frame-friendly in that style.
