An old oil lamp designed in 1784 by Mr QUINTET.
HDRI + radiosity_final (rad_def.inc) : 59'46" on my Athlon XP2500+ & 512Mo

Unbelievably realistic looking!
Is it supposed to look painted?

When I copy an item like this, I try to modelling all the details (even
tough they can't be seen at firt look) but the photo I used was
low-resolution. So I tried to do my best. But I'll improve the textures to
make it looks more realistic ! (Better copper texture, perhaps SSS texture
for the glass...etc..)
(Sorry for my bad English)

One of these days, I'm going to have to play with MLPov to play with HDRI a
bit. Absolutely beautiful image. It's amazing what an appropriate env. map
can do for an image esp. when the lighting is part of that mapping..
Nice...
I've looked at some of the sites for building lightprobes, and it seems to
be a simple process, I'll just have to pick up one of those shiny garden
spheres and build my own probes. I already have a couple tripods and a dig.
camera capable of manual exposure setting, so I can capture the full dynamic
range.

In a way, I kinda like the painted look. The copper look is kindof cliche,
like the checkerboard and reflective sphere thing. Plus, it /really looks
like real paint/... a happy discovery :-)

Very nice! An excellent choice for a model. Q: How did you make the
S-curve supports for the lampshade?
