I want to get some opinions on the new countertop texture. I have attached
an update to a scene I created years ago that can be found on the
predecessor to the irtc

Here's a link to the original image:
http://archive.irtc.org/ftp/pub/old-competition/competition-Sep-95/oj.jpg,
and I attached the new image to this post.

Ignoring everything else in the scene (it's practically the same, bitmaps
missing have been replaced), what do you think of the new texture for the
counter top?

I saw a countertop that looked almost exactly like that. It had a little
more black and prismatic-reflecty
flecks under the surface. Almost like Labradorite, only orange.
Nice!
I like the whole image, by the way. The blue in the bottoms of the
glasses is especially cool.

Thanks.
Bill

The glasses are set up to have a refractive index of 1.5, but I think the
thickness was a bit too thin, so they look ghosted. I brought in my new
glass object I created for this scene, but I think the lighting needs some
serious work. The texture on the new glasses uses photons, but there are no
caustics visible (save for a reflective caustic on the top of the orange
juice substance.)

Here is an image of the new glass, though to show you the direction I am
going:
